[Women's Indoor Track & Field] Its a Runner-Up Finish for Women's Indoor T&F at League ...

UPLAND, Ind. – The Indiana Wesleyan University women’s indoor track and field team wrapped up the two day Crossroads League Championships on Saturday hosted by Taylor (Ind.).

The Wildcats secured second place with 161 points as Taylor (Ind.) won the league title with 191 points. Marian (Ind.) was a distant third place at 109 points.

On Saturday, Indiana Wesleyan produced a trio of NAIA standards and seven All-Crossroads League performances for finishing in the top three of an event. Paige Sutter won the Shot Put and Erica Stutsman won the 800-Meter to give the Wildcats a pair of individual champions on Friday.

For the weekend, Indiana Wesleyan earned six NAIA standards, 12 All-Crossroads League efforts, and four Crossroads League titles.


NAIA Standards

Lorna Bechtel reached the NAIA B standard in the High Jump. She earned the standard with a leap of 1.62-meters (5-3.75 feet).

Paige Sutter surpassed the NAIA A standard in the Shot Put with a mark of 13.52-meters (44-4.25 feet).

Alex McFarland finished with an NAIA B standard in the 60-Meter Dash. She crossed the finish line in 7.82 seconds.


All-Crossroads League Performances

Lorna Bechtel placed second out of 10 in the High Jump to earn All-Crossroads League recognition. She earned a distance of 1.62-meters (5-3.75 feet).

Paige Sutter and Gloria Dean both earned All-League recognition in the Shot Put. Sutter won the Crossroads League championship in the event with a mark of 13.52-meters (44-4.25 feet) while Dean captured third place at 12.22-meters (40-1.25 feet). There were 22 throwers in the event.

Alex McFarland and Arianna Kleppinger each secured All-Crossroads League honors in the 60-Meter Dash. McFarland was second place in 7.82 seconds and Kleppinger was third place in 7.95 seconds.

Erica Stutsman claimed the 800-Meter championship with a time of 2:20.85. She won the title over 18 competitors.

Alex McFarland won the 200-Meter Dash in a time of 26.39. Her league championship came against a 26 runner field.
