[Indoor Track & Field] Indoor T&F Kicks Off 2019 SeasonPublished by
MARION, Ind. – Indiana Wesleyan University indoor track and field hosted the IWU Invitational on Friday night for their first meet of the season. Three Wildcats reached four NAIA standards to give Indiana Wesleyan a successful start to the year.
Brennan Coil Men’s Shot Put A Standard 16.76-meters / 55-0 feet Derek Parker Men’s 60-Meter Hurdles A Standard 8.21 seconds Chad Ellens Men’s 800-Meter B Standard 1:56.89 Abby Karnes Women’s Pole Vault B Standard 3.42-meters / 11-2.50 feet
“We’re glad we were able to get our season kicked off today. We had a lot of really solid performances, some qualifying standards, and a bunch of PRs. To do that in the first meet of the year is fun. We’ve got a lot of work to do to make sure we continue growing and improving.”
