[Indoor Track & Field] Indoor T&F Hosts IWU Midwest ClassicPublished by
MARION, Ind. – Schools from Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, and Ohio converged on Troyer Fieldhouse Saturday for the annual IWU Midwest Classic. Indiana Wesleyan compiled four NAIA standards on Saturday to cap a successful weekend invitational.
• Chad Ellens hit the NAIA A standard in the 600-Meter Run with a time of 1:21.26. He finished first of 35 runners • Brennan Coil once again earned an NAIA A standard in the Shot Put. He placed second in the 35 thrower field with a mark of 16.08 meters / 52-9.25 feet. • The 4x800-Meter Relay team of Chad Ellens, Austin Miller, Noah Shigley, and McGerran Clouser gained an NAIA B standard. The quarter finished first of six teams with a time of 7:58.18
• Erica Stutsman, Kendra Frieden, Sterling Simek, and Jessica Sprinkles won the 4x800-Meter Relay with a time of 9:35.29. The relay team earned the NAIA A standard.
"I am very pleased with where the team is right now. A lot of people are really clicking and making it fun to compete. We are looking forward to Crossroads League next week but there are still a handful of things to figure out." NEXT FOR THE WILDCATS Indiana Wesleyan competes at the Crossroads League Championship on February 8-9. The league meet is hosted by Taylor (Ind.) in Upland, Indiana.
