[Men's Indoor Track & Field] Men's Indoor T&F Finish Third at Crossroads League Championship

UPLAND, Ind. – The Indiana Wesleyan University men’s indoor track and field team wrapped up the two day Crossroads League Championship on Saturday hosted by Taylor (Ind.).

Indiana Wesleyan finished third place at the league meet with 119 points and finished behind Bethel (Ind.) with 166 points and Marian (Ind.) with 140 points.

The Wildcats secured four more NAIA standards on Saturday and six All-Crossroads League performances. Brennan Coil won the Shot Put and Jesse Saxton won the Mile Run to claim Crossroads League championships.

In all, Indiana Wesleyan closes out the weekend championship meet with six NAIA standards, 10 All-Crossroads League efforts, and three Crossroads League championships.


MEN:  NAIA Standards

Brennan Coil hit the NAIA A standard in the Shot Put with a mark of 17.18-meters (56-4.5 feet). The throw for Coil is his best this season and is the fourth best throw this season in the NAIA.

Jesse Saxton ran a time of 4:15.50 in the Mile Run to earn the NAIA A standard. The time is the fifth fastest in the NAIA this season.

Steven Ott took an NAIA B standard in the 800-Meter Run with a time of 1:56.75.

Jesse Saxton finished with a second NAIA A standard as he did so in the 3,000-Meter Run.


MEN:  All-Crossroads League Performers

Brennan Coil won the Crossroads League championship in the Shot Put with a mark of 17.18-meters (56-4.5 feet). He was first in the 21-thrower field.

Jesse Saxton and Chris Maxon both finished in the top-three in the Mile Run to earn league recognition. Saxton won the Crossroads League championship in the event with a tie of 4:15.50 while Maxon took third place with a time of 4:25.02.

Steven Ott and McGerran Clouser each earned All-League in the 800-Meter Run. In the 21-runner field, Ott took second place in 1:56.75 and Clouse was third place in a time of 1:56.94.

Jesse Saxon placed second of 28 runners in the 3,000-Meter Run with a time of 8:38.58.
