[Men's Outdoor Track & Field] Men's T&F Finishes Fourth at Crossroads League Meet

MARION, Ind. – The Indiana Wesleyan University men’s outdoor track and field team placed fourth out of 10 teams at the Crossroads League Championship meet in Marion.

Bethel (Ind.) won the league championship with 172.5 points. Three teams were separated by 10 points for second place with Taylor (Ind.) taking the runner-up position with 144 points, Marian (Ind.) placed third at 142.5 points, and Indiana Wesleyan in fourth place with 134 points.

The Wildcats closed the two-day championship meet with three event championships plus six other top-three performances. Top-three finishes earn All-Crossroads League accolades.

 

Crossroads League Champions

Day 1 on Friday

The 4x800-Meter Relay team won a tightly contested race in 7:37.96. The time is an NAIA A standard and was 0.82 seconds from setting a Crossroads League Championship meet record. The relay team was comprised of Austin Miller, Adrien Howard, Steven Ott, and Chad Ellens.

Adam Fields won the 10,000-Meters with a time of 31:24.25. His time is also an NAIA B standard.

Brennan Coil won the Discus championship with a throw of 52.47-meters/172-2 feet. The throw is an NAIA A standard for Coil.

 

All-Crossroads League Performances (Top-3 Finish)

Day 2 on Saturday

Landon Miller was the runner-up in the 3,000-Meter Steeplechase. He crossed the line in 9:34.18.

Steven Ott took third place in the 1,500-Meters as he finished in a time of 4:02.83, a mere 0.45 seconds behind first place.

Jesse Saxton was third place in the 5,000-Meters with a time of 15:20.31.

Jack Mennen captured third place in the Javelin with a throw of 51.15-meters/167-10 feet.


Day 1 on Friday

Chris Maxon was runner-up in the 10,000-Meters in a time of 31:57.73.

Brennan Coil captured a second place finish in the Shot Put. He finished with a mark of 18.23-meters/59-9.75 feet. His throw is an NAIA A standard.

 

COACH SNYDER SAYS…

“Coming into the year the question we had was leadership and we definitely found the leaders that we needed. They had a phenomenal year with a lot of growth and a lot of improvement. We were coming into this meet with a lot of high hopes but things were a little tricky for us. We got behind in day two and it was hard to pick it back up. “
