NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The Indiana Wesleyan University indoor track and field teams participated on Saturday at the Alex Wilson Invitational hosted by Notre Dame. Brennan Coil and Jesse Saxton each set new program records and the Wildcats had seven PR performances.

MEN’S HIGHLIGHTS

Brennan Coil claimed a new PR and new program record in the Shot Put with a throw of 17.50-meters/57-5 feet. His throw is an NAIA A standard and the third best throw in the country.

Jesse Saxton set a new PR and new program record in the 3,000-Meter Run. His time of 8:29.88 is an NAIA A standard and the third fastest time in the nation this season.

Steven Ott gained a new PR in the Mile Run with a time of 4:24.60.

Chris Maxon ran a 4:23.55 in the Mile Run for a season best time.

Chad Ellens recorded a new PR in the 800-Meter Run with a time of 1:56.30. His time is an NAIA B standard.

Noah Shigley earned a new PR in the 800-Meter Run as he crossed the line in 1:58.65.

Austin Miller finished the 800-Meter Run in a time of 2:00.33 for a season best performance.

Jarett Keffeler earned a season best time in the 400-Meter Run with a time of 51.43 seconds.

WOMEN’S HIGHLIGHT

Jessica Sprinkles finished with a new season-best performance and NAIA B standard in the 800-Meter Run. She crossed the line in a time of 2:19.32.

Sterling Simek ran a 2:21.33 in the 800-Meter Run which is a season best time.

Kendra Frieden set a new PR in the 800-Meter Run with a 2:21.82.

Paige Sutter earned a new PR in the Shot Put with a mark of 13.65-meters/44-9.5 feet. The toss is an NAIA A standard.

Alex McFarland earned a season best time in the 60-Meters with a time of 7.81 seconds. It is an NAIA B standard effort.

NEXT FOR THE WILDCATS

Indiana Wesleyan closes out the indoor season at the NAIA National Championships on February 28-March 2. The national meet will be held in Brookings, South Dakota.
